Clear the conversation without losing the work.
Use this checklist when a long AI session starts getting repetitive, confused, slow, or overloaded — or whenever you finish a major phase and want to start the next one with clean context.
The goal is not to save every message. It is to preserve the smallest durable record that lets the next AI session — or a human — continue accurately.
What the checklist captures
- completed work and durable decisions;
- current project state and unresolved items;
- the next safe action;
- authoritative files and source systems;
- tests and verification already completed;
- rollback or recovery information when relevant;
- sensitive information that should not be carried forward;
- what the next session should deliberately leave unloaded.

Use it with a fresh-session rule
After you capture the handoff, start a new conversation. Load the short context map first, then only the state and source material the next objective actually requires. Do not reload a whole archive just because it exists.
